I love my students, young and old! While I tirelessly teach my students the best technique and practice skills, the goal is always to have something to share!
My violin career began in Portland, Maine with an amazing foundation in the Suzuki method with Clorinda Noyes. At 12, I continued my studies at the New England Conservatory Preparatory school with Marylou Speaker Churchill and later, with James Buswell. I spent summers studying with Lewis Kaplan, Denes Zsigmondy and Itzhak Rashkovsky. My college teachers included David Takeno and Isaac Malkin. I earned my degrees from the Walnut Hill School for the Arts (Highschool), Barnard College at Columbia University (BA) and the University of Miami's Frost School of music as the violin teaching assistant to Glenn Basham (Masters). I also spent a year at the Guildhall school of music in London and an amazing year of Masters studies at the Manhattan school of music before moving to Miami. The most precious wisdom I pass on to my students comes from the countless hours I've spent performing as a soloist and chamber/orchestral musician on stages around the world.

Many of my students have a desire to progress but very full schedules. I spent years practicing many hours a day to elevate my playing to the highest level. Whether my students have hours, or minutes, I help them develop a plan to progress and to feel excited about what they are learning. I give lessons that prepare my students for successful practice time, and exciting performances. Playing music should ultimately be a joyful experience.
